Frequently Asked Questions

Here Are the Answers to Our Most Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Do Treatments for Pain Management or Veteran's PTSD?

No. We currently only do treatments geared toward MOOD disorders like depression, PTSD or anxiety.

How Long Does the IV Infusion Process Take?

We do 6 infusion sessions over 3 weeks for the initial "loading" treatment. The first session is on a Saturday and the remaining treatments are on midweek afternoon sessions and Saturdays. Each session is scheduled by appointment. Most patients require ongoing treatments every 6-12 weeks going forward, but it depends upon needs of the individual.

How Soon Will I See Results from Treatment with Ketamines for Depression?

Typically, Patients notice improvement within a few hours of the first infusion and are frequently at or better than their expected “normal” within the first 2 weeks (4 infusions.)

Do I Need a Preferred Care Provider or Regular Doctor Too?

Yes. A PCP will be needed or we will need to order basic lab tests before the first infusion can begin. The basic labs might not be covered by insurance without a PCP.

Do I Need a Psychological Evaluation?

A psych evaluation is strongly recommended… If you have no psychiatrist, we can recommend one through the clinic who specifically helps patients seeking medication management while undergoing Ketamine Treatments for Depression.

I Have Been Diagnosed with Schizophrenia, is Ketamine Therapy Right for Me?

No. We only do treatments geared toward MOOD disorders like depression, and Ketamine is NOT tolerated well by persons with schizophrenia.

I am Pregnant or Breastfeeding, is Ketamine Therapy Right for Me?

No. Breastfeeding is not preferred if Ketamine is used, although it is a WONDERFUL treatment for post-partum depression.

Will I Need a Ride Home After Each Ketamine Treatment?

YES! A ride home is needed for each infusion, as these treatments make people feel “that body buzz of being drunk and the woozy feeling," but without all the dizziness and unpleasant feelings.
